About Us
Dwight:
Dwight has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in education and music. He has taught piano for over 20 years. Many of his students have gone on to become accomplished musicians. He has also taught voice and choir, focusing primarily on church functions.
Dwight has also taught in private schools since 1986, teaching a variety of age groups and subjects. His specialty is mathematics, having taught Algebra and Geometry for several years, but he is very adept at making even the most complicated concept understandable, as his wife will readily affirm.
Ruth:
Ruth has a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in piano. She has always enjoyed teaching and working with children. Along with experience in church and day-care situations, Ruth has taught 4 and 5 year old kindergarten, elementary and high school English, and piano.
About our Family:
We moved here in March of 2008 from West Virginia in the U.S., to start the Talbot Service for Music and Learning. We have two children, Erik, age 3, and Jonathan, age 9 months. Dwight and Ruth both help with the music at Faith Baptist Church in Stavanger.
